The Inspiring Rise of Rameshwaram Café and the Couple Behind It

Couple Behind South India’s Viral Eatery – INDIA EAT MANIA

In the bustling city of Bengaluru, amidst tech parks and towering buildings, a humble South Indian café has made waves across the culinary scene. The Rameshwaram Café isn’t just a name anymore—it’s a movement. Behind this iconic brand are two determined visionaries: Divya and Raghvendra Rao, a husband–wife duo whose journey is as flavorful as the dishes they serve.

🌟 Who Are Divya and Raghvendra Rao?

Divya Raghavendra Rao is a Chartered Accountant turned entrepreneur. At just 21, she cleared her CA exams and later pursued finance & management at IIM Ahmedabad. With over a decade of experience in finance and a successful CA practice, Divya was at the peak of her career when she decided to take a leap of faith into the food industry.

Her husband, Raghvendra Rao, had a very different story. A mechanical engineering graduate who once dreamed of becoming an actor, Raghvendra faced rejection, lived in a slum, and took over a decade to complete his degree. But his resilience shaped him, and he eventually found his calling in hospitality, working at places like Le Meridien.

Together, they channeled their grit, experiences, and passion to launch The Rameshwaram Café in 2021.

Inspired by Divya’s academic case studies on global food giants like McDonald’s and KFC, the couple wanted to do the same for South Indian cuisine—make it mainstream, fast, and modern, without losing authenticity.

Their café quickly became a local favorite. Crisp dosas, soft idlis, strong filter coffee—all served with efficiency and a smile. Their unique blend of quality, speed, and traditional taste turned the café into a viral sensation.

Divya and Raghvendra Rao’s story is a masterclass in entrepreneurship. They didn’t inherit success—they built it from scratch, seasoned with dreams, struggles, and South Indian spices.
