When it comes to Punjabi cuisine, nothing beats the love for parathas! Among the many varieties, Pyaz Laccha Paratha holds a special place. Crisp, flaky, and stuffed with spiced onions, this paratha is a perfect breakfast, lunch, or dinner companion. Pair it with Raita, pickle, or chutney, and you have a meal straight out of a Punjabi kitchen.
What is Pyaz Laccha Paratha?
Ingredients:
- Onion- 5-6 medium size
- Fresh coriander
- Green chillies
- Besan- 2 Tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Coriander powder- 1 Tsp
- Kashmiri red chilli powder- 1 Tbsp
- Cumin powder- 1 Tsp
- Chaat masala- 1 Tsp
- Black Salt – 1/2 Tsp
- Ajwain- 1 Tsp
- Kasuri Methi- 1 Tsp
- Flour (for Dough)
- Kalonji
- Ghee/Oil
Method:
For filling:
- Cut Onions in lacchas
- Add some Masalas in it and mix well :
Fresh coriander, Green chillies, Besan, Salt to taste, Coriander powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, Cumin powder, Chaat masala, Black Salt, Ajwain, Kasuri Methi - Prepare dough for paratha
- Then Roll out the dough to make roti and spread filling on it, sprinkle some flour, then place another roti above it and cut it just as shown in the video and make a flower like structure.
- Then sprinkle some flour, Kalonji, fresh coriander and roll it again but carefully.
- Use Desi ghee for cooking the paratha.
- Add some butter on top of it.
- Serve the paratha with raita/ achaar/ Chutney!
